As your therapist, I believe it is never too late for personal growth. I commend you for taking a first step towards achieving your goals. My clients describe me as someone who truly cares about what they have to say. I will remember the things we discuss and approach you and your story with compassion and empathy. I place importance on educating my clients, teaching them coping skills, and strengthening the therapeutic relationship.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and earned my Master of Social Work from New York University. I incorporate techniques that are evidence-based and backed by research. Some of these include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). You might find yourself feeling defeated, overwhelmed, and alarmed by past experiences. Together, we will explore your overwhelming thoughts, hopelessness, and stressors. We will work as a team to calm your racing mind, regulate your body, and improve your overall mood. I believe that we all possess strengths and can flourish at any point in time. We will celebrate your victories along the way and use them as a means to move forward.
I maintain an eclectic treatment approach. This means that I have training in various therapeutic interventions and use the most effective treatments for each person. I understand that each of us is unique and what is useful for one person might not be for another. Each of my clients is viewed as an individual and we can explore which treatments might work best for you. I look forward to meeting and joining you on your mental health journey!
